Oiled

Oak finished in hardwax oil is the perfect marriage making this probably our most used finish. Two coats of quality hardwearing hardwax oil are all it takes to protect the timber from everyday wear while enhancing the grain patterns of this already durable wood. Available in matt or satin it gives the oak its characteristic natural honey tones. Clear impregnation oil can be used as a first coat to deepen the colour and enhance the grain a little more. The floor pictured was for a primary school, laid unfinished and a cracking job was made by the the excellent fitter they employed. Just a pity the oil looks as if it was applied by catapult. |
